Multi-Spindle ECX Series: ECX 2-46

Our new series of automatic lathes is designed to address the evolution in machining requirements of today’s markets and fill the production gap between multi-spindles and the standard single spindle automatics.  Shorter product life cycles, greater complexity of components, and smaller batches mean that you’ll likely require higher retooling flexibility from your machines for future workpieces.

The ECX offers the perfect solution as a highly productive, single-spindle automatic for pre-production batches (PPAP) or batch sizes that are below the practical or economic application limit for multi-spindle automatics.

By combining the flexibility and simple handling of single-spindle automatics with the productivity of multi-spindle automatics, this all-new series of automatic lathes closes the gap between the two types of machining technology.

• Powerful motor spindle in 2 sizes – 46 and 65 mm
• Parallel machining with up to six tools (four for the main spindle and two for the counter spindle)
• Optional single-axis slide for cut-off
• Optional swiveling drive can be used as a turret drive and Y-axis (multi-axis interpolation)
• Precision and optimal cutting process damping through hydrostatic bearings
• Simple set-up and changeover, thanks to modular structure of the turret/tool units
• Follow-up tools can be changed, preset, and staged during production
• Modular handling system for simple parts as well as shock-sensitive finished workpieces
• SICS HMI software for easy and quick configuration, programming, operation
• Connect, communication interface based on OPC UA for digitization solutions from Schütte and open for further customer provided applications
